The design bug bit Robbin Cook long before she realized her affinity for business relations. Raised within a meticulously restored 18th-century home—a labor of love by her design enthusiast mom and dad—Cook absorbed her parents’ penchant for clean design and knack for curation.

A professional by day, a grad student and artist by night, Britt Miller describes herself as a "lifelong artist" who draws inspiration mainly from her travels abroad. While she majored in Advertising at Penn State, Britt's interest was captivated mainly by her minors in International Art and International Studies. And while studying in Florence, Italy, Britt's slumbering artistic persona was awakened by the ancient city's rich history.

Barbara Rosin, an impressionist painter, is a self-described "lifelong artist"; she's been drawing as "long as [she] could hold a pencil." While she works primarily with oil paint, Rosin is equally talented as an illustrator, providing artwork for the covers of cookbooks, poetry journals, and sociological texts. Her professional career, however, is in art therapy.

This week's artIST is JoKa, a North Jersey transplant whose approach to art is self-described as "tongue-in-cheek." JoKa's artwork is admittedly satirical with his humor, albeit dark and twisted, being a common thread.

Chris Clark's talent as an artist can be traced back to his childhood, when he was introduced to graphic arts by his grandfather, a sign painter. A graduate of Kutztown University with a B.F.A. in printmaking, Chris's work reflects these early lessons in design and as well as his lifelong interest in commercial and residential construction. Featuring organic forms juxtaposed against the engineered and the synthetic, Chris's work explores the relationship between the natural world and technology.
